Get answers to common questions about Eye Care Therapy.
During Eye Care Therapy you will experience a gentle herbal decoction stream (Nethra Dhara) followed by medicated ghee retention (Tharpanam). The session is soothing, lasts about 30–60 minutes, and relaxes ocular muscles while refreshing periocular tissues.
Most clients benefit from a course of 3–6 sessions spaced weekly, though needs vary by condition severity. Our practitioners assess ocular health and recommend a personalized plan, with maintenance sessions advised for chronic strain or progressive issues.
Eye Care Therapy is generally safe for sensitive or dry eyes when tailored by a qualified therapist. Ingredients and durations are adjusted; however active infections or severe inflammation require prior medical evaluation to avoid complications.
Temporary blurring, watering, mild redness, or light sensitivity can occur briefly after treatment. These effects usually resolve within hours; persistent discomfort or increased pain should be reported immediately for assessment and possible medical referral.
This therapy effectively reduces digital eye strain, improves lubrication, and calms ocular muscles, enhancing visual comfort and focus. It does not typically correct refractive errors, so combine with ergonomic changes and regular eye exams for best results.
Avoid Eye Care Therapy if you have active eye infections, recent eye surgery, open periocular wounds, or uncontrolled systemic conditions. Pregnant clients and those on certain medications should consult both our therapist and their physician before treatment.
