General Weakness aftercare: a 7-day plan that protects your results
By Santhigram Wellness | July 25, 2026
Journal Square, Jersey City | General Weakness Health Package (90 minutes, $195)

The most important rule after your General Weakness Health Package is simple: protect your energy for 48 hours. This 90-minute protocol combines Abhyangam, Kizhi, and Swedana, so it’s normal to feel deeply relaxed right after. In Jersey City, especially if you’re heading back out into heat and summer humidity, plan to rest, sip fluids steadily, eat warm easy meals, and skip anything that pushes your body hard. Give the work time to settle.
Your first 24–48 hours: rest, warm food, and no “powering through”
Right after this package, we generally recommend treating the next day or two like a recovery window. You’re not being “lazy”. You’re letting your nervous system and digestion do their part.
For the first 48 hours: rest, stay well-hydrated, eat warm easy-to-digest foods, avoid strenuous activity, alcohol, and cold showers, and continue any prescribed herbs or supplements.
Do this the day of your appointment
- Hydrate steadily. If it’s humid out in Jersey City, add electrolytes, especially if you’re walking between the PATH and errands.
- Eat warm, light meals. Think kitchari, soup, brothy lentils, or simple rice with cooked veggies.
- Keep your evening quiet. A short walk is usually fine. Hard workouts are not.
- Take a lukewarm shower if you need to rinse. Skip cold plunges and cold showers for 24 to 48 hours.
Avoid these common “result killers”
Alcohol, heavy greasy meals, raw salads, and lots of caffeine tend to work against the goal of rebuilding strength. We also recommend skipping sauna and intense heat right after treatment. Your body’s already been warmed through Swedana. It doesn’t need more stress.
Days 3–7: bring your routine back slowly (and keep the “easy wins”)
A pattern we hear a lot is that the real shift doesn’t always happen the minute you walk out. It builds when you actually follow the plan at home. One person put it clearly after a weeklong detox experience: “I had to learn to relax and take it easy.” That mindset is the point.
Activity: step up in stages
Day 3 is usually when people want to do everything again. We’d rather you do a little less and keep the progress. Start with walking and gentle mobility. Then add moderate exercise later in the week if your energy stays steady and you’re sleeping well.
- Gentle yoga: often fine after 48 hours, keep it restorative and avoid overheating.
- Running or HIIT: wait until you’ve had at least a couple of days of stable energy and no lightheadedness.
- Heavy lifting: hold off for a few days. If you do it, keep the session short and stop before fatigue.
Food: keep it warm and simple a bit longer
Stay with cooked foods and steady hydration for 3 to 7 days. Most people do best keeping caffeine low and avoiding greasy takeout for at least 48 to 72 hours. If you’re commuting from Hoboken, Bayonne, Union City, North Bergen, or New York, pack something simple so you’re not stuck grabbing the heaviest option on the way home.
Meals, fluids, and bathing: the “boring” habits that help you feel stronger
Aftercare doesn’t need a shopping list. It needs consistency. If you do only a few things well, make it these.
Warm meals you can repeat
Kitchari, bone broth or veggie broth soups, cooked oats, rice congee, mung dal, and cooked seasonal vegetables. Mild spices are usually fine. Keep it easy to digest.
Hydration that actually counts
Water sipped through the day beats chugging at night. In summer humidity in Jersey City, add electrolytes if you’re sweating or waiting outdoors for the train.
Showering and heat
Stick to lukewarm showers for 24 to 48 hours. Skip sauna or intense heat right after. Your body’s already been warmed through Swedana.
And if we’ve prescribed herbs or supplements as part of your plan, keep that schedule steady. That’s where a lot of momentum comes from.
When to call us: what’s normal, what’s not, and how we’ll guide you
Feeling relaxed, sleepy, or a little “slowed down” can happen after Abhyangam, Kizhi, and Swedana. Many people also notice their mind feels clearer as the days go on, especially if they actually rest and eat simply.
“Within just two weeks of medications and therapies, my brain fog lifted, and I finally began to feel mentally clear, calm, and grounded again.”

Quick commute notes for Jersey City, Hoboken, and NYC clients
If you’re heading back to work or home after your appointment, keep it simple. Try to avoid stacking your day with heavy errands or long walks right after the session.
- If you’re traveling back to New York or coming in from Hoboken, Union City, Bayonne, or North Bergen, bring water and a light snack so you don’t end up skipping meals.
- If the day is extremely humid, plan extra fluids and electrolytes. Heat plus transit waits can drain you fast.
- If you’re already feeling lightheaded before you leave, pause and let us know. We’ll help you decide if you should rest a bit longer before commuting.
